Joy co-founded computing pioneer Sun Microsystems where he was the inspiration for the development of NFS, the SPARC microprocessors, the Java programming language, Jini/JavaSpaces, and JXTA. After leaving Sun Microsystems, Joy became a well known venture capitalist and influential futurist.
